TAIPEI, Jan 23: Taiwan’s export orders in December fell by a record 33 per cent to US$20.79 billion due to weakening demand amid the financial crisis, the economic ministry said on Friday.
The figures compared with a decline of 28.51 per cent in November to $22.8 billion.
Export orders of precision products fell 53.83 per cent to $1.24 billion and orders of electronic products were down 30.84 per cent at $4.93 billion in December, the ministry said. —AFP
