TIMERGARA, Jan, 25: A prominent lawyer of Timergara Abdul Jamil Khan was found dead at a busy chowk of the city late on Saturday night.

Unidentified persons kidnapped him on Saturday as he was seen in the barroom for the last time on the day however no one knew about his kidnapping, a member of the district bar said.

He was shot dead by somewhere else but his body was later thrown at the famous Chaudhry Iftikhar Chowk late at night, a police official said.

He said that that during routine patrolling police saw a body which was taken to district headquarters hospital for autopsy where it was identified as Advocate Jamil, a prominent figure of the legal fraternity in the district. Police registered a case and started investigation.

His other relatives live in Swat but he migrated to Dir some 32 years ago and started living in Maidan. Later he had been living in Balambat. The deceased was famous for his liberal and secular thoughts and he remained active in the political struggle but then he disassociated himself from active politics and concentrated on his practice, Timergara bar members said.
