DADU, Jan 25: Some leader and about 350 activists of the Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz were booked in a sedition case for delivering speeches against Pakistan on the eve of the 105th birth anniversary of the founder of the Jeay Sindh Tehrik on Sunday.

On the complaint of SHO Sann police station Rafique Ahmed Panhwar, an FIR (4/2009) under Sections 123, 124, 147 and 148 of the Pakistan Penal Code was lodged against leaders of the Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz (JSQM), chairman of the Jeay Sindh Quam Parsat Party (JSQPP) and other activists.

JSQM chairman Bashir Khan Qureshi, Akash Mallah, Dr Safdar Sarki, Zafar Korejo, Hanif Sagar Burdi, Khalil Ahmed Ansari, Dr Niaz Kalani, JSQPP chairman Qamar Bhatti and others have been nominated in the FIR.

ARRESTED: Six peons and watchmen and four policemen were arrested for interrogation in a case pertaining to the burning of record of the first additional session judge court Dadu on Sunday.

Dadu police on the complaint of the reader of first additional session court Dadu, Shafique Ahmed, had registered an FIR (41/2009) under Section 456 and 436 of the PPC against unidentified persons.

He had stated in the FIR that some unidentified persons entered the record room and burnt the record of cases on late Saturday night.

Dadu city DSP Mohammad Ramzan told Dawn that six peons, watchmen of the court and four police officials performing duty in the court had been arrested for interrogation in connection with the case.
