Police take over office of Dadu nazim

DADU, Jan 26: Police officials have been deployed at residence of the district nazim, which he had been using as his office and the officials were asked to leave the premises and shift their records.

PML-Q-backed District Nazim Karim Ali Jatoi was using his official residence for office work, as miscreants burnt his office during violent acts right after the assignation of Benazir Bhutto. Renovation work of the office of the district nazim is going on.

The District Naib Nazim, Syed Hussain Shah, told Dawn that two days ago Mukhtiarkar of Dadu Naeem Ahmed Vistro has deployed police at the official residence of the district nazim, now being used as his office.

He said that it was property of the district government and the district nazim was using the bungalow for office work also but the mukhtiarkar sealed the office of the nazim. He said that police were not allowing staff of the nazim secretariat to work. He said that this office would be handed over to the taluka nazim for residence.

When contacted, Mukhtiarkar Dadu, Naeem Ahmed Vistro confirmed that on the directives of DCO Dadu he had deployed a few police officials at the bungalow of district nazim which was hitherto being used for office work by Mr Patio. He said that this bungalow will be handed over to taluka nazim for residential purpose. He said that record of the district nazim office was still lying at the bungalow.

Taluka Nazim of Dadu Najeeb Panhwar said that he had residence problem and the DCO had issued such directive to vacate this bungalow.

ZAKAT: Provincial minister for Usher and Zakat, Sajid Jokhio has said that corruption in Zakat and Usher Committees had paralysed this system which will be eradicated and improvements will be introduced. He was speaking at Zakat cheques distribution ceremony at DCO office here on Monday.He distributed 200 cheques of Rs3,000 among the deserving people. He also gave cheques of Rs200,000 for civil hospital Dadu, Rs300,000 to TB hospital administration, Rs50,000 to taluka hospitals Johi, Mehar and Khairpur Nathan Shah from Zakat fund.

He directed to local chairman of Zakat to distribute Zakat cheque among poor in open kutchehries. He announced that marriages of 100 couples will be held in Mehar within a month by the Zakat and Usher department.

DEMO: The residents of different villages of Johi including Jaindo Gadhi, Dilawar Panhwar, Saifal Panhwar and Ghazi Panhwar held a demonstration outside Zamzama gas field on Monday.

Their leader Gaji Khan Panhwar said that Zamzama gas field officials were laying oil pipeline to PARCO pumping station Bubak from his land but they were not resolving their genuine issues. He accused officials of community welfare and external affairs departments of BHP of embezzling funds.
