SAHIWAL, Jan 30: The Punjab Professors and Lecturers Association’s Sahiwal chapter on Friday condemned through a resolution illegal occupation of the Zimindara College, Gujrat’s land.

The participants pledged support to their colleagues and students who have been struggling to save the college land. They criticised the government for “neglecting the college teachers”.

The PPLA members also discussed various other issues and demanded better service structure, implementation of time-scale formula, regularisation of contract teachers, and increase in allowances.

The PPLA is a registered (elected) body working for the collective rights of college teachers in Punjab. Around 17,000 male/female teachers are its members working in 400 colleges all over the province.
