LAHORE, Jan 30: Punjab won another gold medal and with an aggregate of 121 points became the leader in the 2nd National Juniors Cycling Championship at the Velodrome here on Friday.
In all, two more events were decided on the event’s second day. Zeeshan Ahmad gave Punjab their third gold medal of the event when he won the 20km Individual Road Time Trial, clocking 25 minutes and 55 seconds. Sajid Khan of Army was right behind him to grab the runners-up spot. Abdul Baseer (Balochistan) and Mohammad Ali Butt (Punjab) claimed the third and fourth slots, respectively.
Sameer Hussain of Sindh earned a gold medal, winning the 30 kilometres Road Race, covering the distance in 46 minutes and 34.26 seconds. Waqas Ahmad (Punjab) remained second while Mohammad Ali Butt (Punjab) and Sajid Khan (Army) seized the third and fourth places.
Punjab and Army have also qualified for the final of the 1,000 metres team sprint to be held on Saturday.

30km Road Race: Sameer Hussain (Sindh) 46m 34.26 sec; Waqas (Punjab), Mohammad Ali Butt (Punjab), Sajid Khan (Army), Zeeshan (Punjab), Abdul Baseer (Balochsitan).
