LARKANA, May 14: Police sources told Dawn on Tuesday that a sub-inspector, Ali Mohammed Brohi, was the main character in the theft at the Moenjodaro Museum.

The inspector, who belongs to the Sindh Reserve Police (SRP), Sukkur, has managed to escape to Khuzdar.

Police sources said that before they could arrest the accused, he managed to escape.

They added that the accused allegedly had connections with antique smugglers in Khuzdar.

Mohammed Paryal Morio, head of the investigation team, Dokri, said that the accused, who were involved in the theft of the antiquities, had been identified and hoped that they would soon be arrested.
