KARACHI, Feb 6: Nine ships carrying containers, chemicals and general cargo are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Saturday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was fairly active where 10 ships, Blida to load cement, Alios to offload coal, Hyundai Duke, T.S. Qingdao, Wan Hai-501, Bunga Terasek and APL Balboa to unload and load containers, Omer, New York Star and Quetta, all oil tankers, were berthed after the departure of seven during the last two days.

The departing ships were led by Dandelion, APL Chicago, Northern Harmony, Sari, Oriental Rose, Rose-2 and Hyun Jin KS-3, while Fusion-1, Banglar Mookh, Quetta, Wan Hai-501, Kota Handal, Alios, Alpha, APL Balboa and X-Press Khyber are due to sail out on Saturday.

A total tonnage of 242,000 tons comprising 65,922 tons of export cargo and 176,000 tons of import tonnage was handled.

The following ships are due on Saturday: Al-Marwah and Sun Pine with chemicals, Ibn Al-Abbar, Jakarta Express, King Brian, Uni-Angel and APL Jeddah with containers, Burgas with project cargo and Jaio Cheng with general cargo.
