KARACHI, Feb 7: Former Pakistan Test captain Rashid Latif will lead Lashing World XI in the second Emirates Palace Cricket Festival being held in Abu Dhabi from Feb 24 to March 31, it was announced on Saturday.

Lashings World XI will take on an Abu Dhabi CC Chairman’s XI and an Etihad XI. It will also include two former Pakistan Test cricketers Saqlain Mushtaq and Abdul Razzaq.

The event is likely to attract some high-quality opposition for Lashings as it is hoped that county teams Surrey and Yorkshire will also be taking part in the Twenty20 tournament.

Lashings World XI provisional squad: Rashid Latif (captain), Greg Blewett (Australia), Herschelle Gibbs (South Africa), Phil Defreitas (England), Courtney Walsh (West Indies), Ed Giddins (England), Adam Hollioake (England), Alvin Kallicharran (West Indies, manager), Devon Malcolm (England), Lance Klusener (South Africa), Abdul Razzaq (Pakistan), Mark Ealham (England), Alan Mullally (England), Russel Arnold (Sri Lanka), Marvan Atapattu (Sri Lanka), Saqlain Mushtaq (Pakistan).—APP
