Farmers will hold protests today

LAHORE, Feb 8: Farmers will stage countrywide demonstrations to protest the shortage and black-marketing of urea fertilizer and diesel besides the defective agricultural marketing system on Monday (today).

Kissan Board, Pakistan, Information Secretary Akhtar Farooq Mayo said Board secretary Malik Ramazan would lead a demonstration outside the Lahore Press Club.

Demonstrations would also be held in Sialkot, Narowal, Gujranwala, Sheikhupura, Gujrat, Hafizabad, Gojra, Jhang, Faisalabad, Khanewal, Mian Channu, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Sargodha, Bhakkar, Khushab, Rajanpur, Muzaffargarh and Taunsa in Punjab, Peshawar, Charsadda, Mardan and Swabi in the NWFP, and Quetta, Naseerabad, Jafferabad, Panjgor, Turbat, Kharan and Changhi in Balochistan, he said.
