HYDERABAD, Feb 16: The University of Sindh is organising 29th Pakistan Congress of Zoology from Feb 24 to 26.

Arrangements for the congress were finalized at a meeting held here on Monday under the chair of pro-vice chancellor of the university, Professor Dr Rafia A. Shaikh.

Registration of the participants will take place at Fatima Jinnah Girls Gymnasium at 9am and inaugural ceremony will start at 10.30am.

Professor Dr Attaur Rehman, coordinator general, Comstech, will be the chief guest.

About 600 delegates, including six from abroad, are expected to participate.

Research articles will be presented by scientists during the congress.

ALUMNI AWARD: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah will preside over the Mehran University Alumni Association’s award distribution ceremony at the annual dinner of the association at the university auditorium in Jamshoro on Feb 26.

A spokesman of the university said here on Monday that the function would be attended by Senior Sindh Minister Pir Mazharul Haq and Minister for Irrigation and Power Syed Murad Ali Shah.

Distinguished engineers, who have major accomplishments in the profession, will be awarded MUAA Excellent Achievement Award 2009.
