LAHORE, Feb 18: Punjab and NWFP registered wins on the second day of the 18th National Baseball Championship at the Iqbal Park Sports Complex on Wednesday.

Punjab earned second consecutive win, defeating Navy 15-4. The winners scored two runs in the first innings through Aamir and Imran. Navy scored one through Shajar.

Punjab were on the offensive in the second innings, scoring five runs through Mohammad Aamir, Mohammad Imran, Mohammad Khalid, Mudassar Hussain and Tufail. But Navy failed to add any run to their total in the second innings.

While Punjab added two more in the third innings, the seamen again failed to tick the score board. Mudassar and Tufail were the scorers. Punjab earned six more runs including one home-hit in the fourth innings, in which Navy also scored two. As Punjab had a 10-run lead, the match ended after the fifth innings.

Earlier, NWFP outclassed Islamabad 10-0. For the winners, Mohammad Usman, Abdur Rehman, Tufail, Sajid and Naeemullah contributed two runs each.
