KARACHI, Feb 18: All top seeds cruised into the men’s singles quarter-finals of the 52nd National badminton championship at the PSB Coaching Centre on Wednesday.

Top seed Ahsan Qamar accounted for Ejaz Mala 21-12, 21-16; second seed Umer Zeeshan, runner up of the last nationals, get past Imran Mohib 21-11, 21-8 while third seed Chaudhary Atique inflicted 22-20, 21-14 defeat on Atif Nadeem.

However, the reigning national champion and fourth seed Wajid Ali progressed by getting walkover against Rizwan Rana.

Meanwhile, there was a walkover galore as no less then half-a-dozen were awarded in the men’s doubles.
