HYDERABAD, Feb 20: A widow has appealed to the authorities and superior judiciary to take notice of the occupation of her agricultural land by a criminal.

Speaking at a news conference at the press club here on Friday, Najma Solangi, widow of Mehmood Khan Solangi, said that she had inherited seven acres of agricultural land bearing survey No.274, 275 and 319 in Deh Ghangra Mori, Hyderabad taluka, from her husband who died about three years ago.

She said that wheat crop had been cultivated on a part of the land which also housed a poultry farm.

She said that a criminal of the area along with his armed hoodlums had occupied the land on Feb 2.

Ms Najma said that she had approached the district administration, the DIG and the DPO of Hyderabad but even then the Husri police was not prepared to register an FIR against the accused.

She said that she was mother of four minor children whose survival depended on the land, and appealed to the authorities to restore justice to her.

Her brother-in-law Allah Dino Solangi said that if no legal action was taken in the matter, he would be forced to seek help of the Solangi community and consequences could be serious.
