WANA, Feb 20: Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan Chief Baitullah Mehsud has resolved his differences with two rival factions in Waziristan and formed a joint front.

The decision was taken at a meeting attended by Baitullah Mehsud and his rivals Maulvi Mohammad Nazir and Hafiz Gul Bahadur.

Maulvi Nazir from South Waziristan and Hafiz Gul Bahadur from North are said to be in good books of the federal government.

Maulvi Nazir leads a strong group of foreign and local militants in areas dominated by Ahmadzai Wazirs in South Waziristan and Hafiz Gul Bhadur’s supporters have a strong presence in Miramshah.

Maulvi Nazir told Dawn on the phone that the three leaders had discussed the future line of action and agreed to form a united front.

He said they would not provide any opportunity to enemies to divide Taliban.

“If President Zardari and President Barack Obama can unite then why not Taliban,” he said, adding that all factions of the Taliban were Muslims.

He said that attack on any one group would be considered as an attack on all of them and they would jointly give a befitting response.
