MULTAN, Jan 1: A number of left-leaning political organizations took out a protest procession here on Thursday against what their leaders said exploitation by the international financial institutions.

Mazdoor Kissan Party chief Afzal Khamosh led the procession participated by the local activists of his organization, Inqalabi Jadojehad and Democratic Students Federation.

The procession started from Chungi No. 9 and terminated at the Nawan Shehr Chowk near the local press club. The processionists were carrying banners and placards inscribed with slogans against IMF, World Bank and WTO.

They were also chanting slogans against unemployment and feudal system of the country where they alleged might is right. Mr Khamosh termed the Briton wood institutions and the world trade organization the worse type of neo-colonialism.

He said the international institutions were 'sucking' resources of the poor countries under one pretext or another. Later on, the processionists staged a mock demonstration of a 'dead city' affected by the policies of the international financial institutions.
