SUKKUR, Jan 12: Five suspects were arrested by the law-enforcing agencies following a rocket attack on a gas field in Sui, Balochistan, on Sunday night. The names of the arrested persons could not be ascertained. A group of outlaws, who came in double-cabin vehicles, fired rockets on gate-3 and 4 of the Sui gas field.

They also hurled hand grenades and opened fire on the gates. However, no casualties or loss of property were reported. The personnel of the Bhambhor Rifles and the Frontier Corps are chasing the outlaws and the area has been cordoned off. The law-enforcement agencies have intensified their patrolling. No case was registered till the filing of this report.

PROTEST: The gas field workers observed a strike for the second consecutive day on Monday in Sui, Balochistan, to protest against the torture of students of a local school.

Talking to journalists, Sui Gas Field Workers Union president Ghulam Sarwar Bugti said the students were tortured by the security staff of the school without any reason. He said the strike would continue till a case against the security staff was registered.
