KHAIRPUR, Jan 16: A former Sindh chief minister, MPA Syed Qaim Ali Shah, has condemned the government action against Awam Dost Panel councillors of the district, terming it an act of revenge.

He was talking to newsmen and party workers after offering Fateha on the death of union council Nazim Bahadur Phul in Khuriri, Thari Mirwah taluka, on Thursday.

He said the district government system was mentioned in the constitution of the PPP but it was introduced by Gen Pervez Musharraf. He said the Jan 14 incident was aimed at failing the district government system.

He said the PPP had faced difficulties to strengthen democracy in the country, but the opposition always entered into the government through back door.

Mr Shah said DPO and DCO Khairpur showed partiality in conflict on Jan 14. He demanded an enquiry into the death of Nazim Bahadur Phul through the Sindh High Court.

PROCESSION: Students of the government primary school Lal-jo- Lao village Kingri taluka took out a procession here on Friday against the closure of the school.

Talking to newsmen, the parents said the school had remained closed for the last two years due to which future of atleast 200 children was destroyed.
