DADU, Jan 20: Two women were kidnapped in the Mir Khan village, Mehar taluka, on Tuesday. Seven armed men barged into the house of Mohammad Bux Qambrani and after holding inmates hostages at gunpoint looted cash and gold ornaments and took away Husna , 40, wife of Mohammad Bux Qambrani, and Zahida, 18, daughter of Mr Qambrani.
On the complaint of Mr Qambrani, the Thrari Mohabbat police registered an FIR against Taj Mohammad, Ghulam Mohammad, Sajan, Bagh, More, Nazir and Shahzado Qambrani.
ARRESTED: Two bandits were arrested after an exchange of fire with the police near the Rukkan town on Tuesday. Those arrested were identified as Manzoor Chandio and Suleman Chandio. Two short guns and fifty cartridges were also recovered from their possession.
INJURED: Five persons were injured when a Jamshoro-bound pickup of the BHP oil and gas company collided with a car (AFH-644) on the Indus Highway near the Sann town here on Tuesday.
The injured - two guards of the company, Bashir Ahmad and Ayaz, and three occupants of the car, whose names could not be ascertained - were taken to the Liaquat University Hospital, Jamshoro.
MINISTER: Sindh Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Naeem Ishtiaq has said Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad has directed the Provincial Police Officer and the Regional Police Officer, Sukkur, to arrest tribal chiefs and other people issuing threats to Shaista Almani.
He was talking to journalists after inaugurating a medical camp, set up by the Muttahida Qaumi Movement, here on Monday. The minister said the Muttahida would provide shelter to Ms Almani and also extend help to other victimized girls of the province. About problems of youths, he said he had sent proposals to the federal government for releasing funds to resolve the problems.
