Benazir wants to return on March 23

Published January 21, 2004

LAHORE, Jan 20: Ms Benazir Bhutto is reported to have told certain party leaders that she wants to return to Pakistan on March 23.

However, the PPP central executive committee will discuss the matter some time next month and decide whether the former prime minister should take the risk of coming back to the country.

Ms Bhutto has directed the party to look into the possibility of setting up debating societies of the People's Students Federation in universities. She thinks that since student unions are non-existent, these societies would enable the party to have a direct contact with the students. She has also proposed an expanded structure for the party's Lahore organization.
