FAISALABAD: Bandits on the rampage

FAISALABAD, Jan 22: Bandits looted hundreds of thousands of rupees in cash, ornaments and hijacked three cars, a motorcycle, a truck in 29 strikes in the city and its rural areas during the last three days.

A gang of armed bandits looted thousands of rupees in cash and ornaments from the house of Jameel Ahmed in Chak 123-JB. Thieves took away daily used items worth Rs200,000 from the godown of trader Muhammad Tahir in Factory Area.

Burglars stole cash and ornaments from the house of Shahid Mehmood in the Civil Lines area. Armed outlaws looted thousands of rupees in cash and tyres of vehicles worth Rs180,000 from the shop of Muhammad Akbar on Jail Road.

Costly articles, thousands of rupees in cash and ornaments were stolen from Sadiq's house in Naseerabad and Musarrat Bibi's house at Chak 7-JB. A gang of bandits looted computers valuing thousands of rupees and other valuables from a printing press of Shakoor in D-Type Colony.

Armed highwaymen snatched a truck (PRL-8827) from transporter Nisar Khan at Chak 202-RB. Vehicle-lifters hijacked a car (LOP-9) of Arshad Naeem in Ghulam Muhammadabad and another car (FDU-7484) of Yaseen in Chak 102-JB.

Unidentified gunmen shot dead boy Anwar Ali on resistance during a dacoity attempt in Chak 509-GB in Mamukanjan. Armed gangsters murdered aged woman Hajan Bibi during a dacoity bid in Chak 482-GB in the area of Sadar Police Station. The outlaws fled after looting ornaments and other valuables from the house.

Two highwaymen injured seriously two villagers - Riaz Kharal and Imran Kamal when they put up resistance to foil a robbery bid in Chak 24-GB of Jaranwala tehsil. The outlaws fled after snatching cash and wristwatches from the injured persons.

Three masked bandits injured Gulzar Ahmed during a dacoity attempt in Chak 76-JB of Thikriwala. The outlaws fled after snatching cash from the injured.

Armed robbers deprived passengers of Sargodha-bound bus of thousands of rupees in cash, ornaments and other valuables near Pul Dangero. A gang of armed bandits plundered thousands of rupees in cash and gold from the house of farmer Aslam in Chak 223-RB.

Five masked dacoits looted ornaments and other valuables from Inayat's house in Farooqabad in the area of D-Type Colony police station. Thieves took away a gas meter installed outside the offices of a secret agency in Ayub Research Colony on Jhang Road.

Four masked bandits snatched Rs14,000 in cash and ornaments from lady doctor Asia in her clinic in People's Colony. Two masked highwaymen snatched a motorcycle and thousands of rupees in cash from constable Farooq in the limits of Nishatabad police station.

Four masked bandits snatched Rs16,000 from Shafique, Rs4,000 from Afzal and thousands of rupees from three other villagers in Chak 22-GB. Three unidentified armed bandits barged into the house of Altaf Ahmed in Madina Colony in Jaranwala and snatched Rs16,000 in cash and ornaments worth Rs50,000 from the inmates.

Armed bandits relieved villagers Sher Muhammad, Rafique, Iqbal and Shahid Ali of thousands of rupees in cash in Mamukanjan town. A gang of bandits snatched a taxi cab (FDS-9595) from Yaqoob near Chak 54-JB in the area of Nishatabad police station.

Three highwaymen deprived Shakoor of his motorcycle (FDY-6124) at gunpoint on Chak Jhumra Road. Armed robbers snatched thousands of rupees in cash and wristwatches from nine villagers near Pullanpur Road in the jurisdiction of Thikriwala police station.

Burglars took away valuables and thousands of rupees in cash from the bakery of Masood Mukhtar in Liaquat Town. Thieves stole Rs27,000 in cash and other costly articles from the shop of Hakeem Fazal Qadir on Jhang Road. A gang of thieves took away official trees worth Rs330,000 from two villages in Thikriwala.
