EU team visits Sialkot

SIALKOT, Jan 23: A European Union delegation has expressed its satisfaction over complete eradication of child labour from soccer ball industry, and assured all cooperation and technical assistance to boost its export.

The three-member EU delegation led by Mr Hans Pos Thamus and comprising Mr Ali Dastagir and Dr Riaz Ahmad visited the Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), and discussed the matters of mutual interest with SCCI President Tahir Majeed Kapur.

The SCCI president briefed the EU delegation about the achievements of Sialkot business community in social, economic and industrial sectors. The EU delegation highly hailed the unique export culture of Sialkot and said that the Sialkot has assumed the model status for the developing world after the development of its cottage industries.
