GUJRANWALA: Teenager raped, strangled

GUJRANWALA, Feb 8: A teenage girl has been raped and strangled in Kot Ladha. Sources said the deceased was on her way to the fields when she was kidnapped by unidentified assailants. Her body was found near a brick kiln.

SHOT DEAD: A man was shot dead by his step-brothers over a land dispute in Farid Town. The deceased, Muhammad Tufail, had sold a cultivable piece of land but refused to give money to his step-brothers, who allegedly kidnapped him and shot him dead near the Upper Chenab Canal.

Police have registered a case against the accused, two of whom were identified as Muhammad Aslam and Ashraf.

ROBBERIES: Dacoits and robbers looted a bus and two houses and took away a cab in four strikes in and around the city on Sunday.

The bus, on its way to Sialkot from Lahore, was hijacked by four highwaymen near Chianwali Eminabad. They got it diverted to a deserted place where they snatched cash, gold ornaments and other valuables from passengers at gunpoint and escaped.

Half a dozen outlaws forced their entry into the house of one Muhammad Ashraf in Kamoki by scaling the boundary wall, held the inmates hostage at gunpoint, collected Rs75,000, 10-tola gold jewellery and fled the place.

Four bandits entered the house of one Muhammad Shafiq in Garjakh locality, locked the inmates in a room, collected Rs100,000, 20-tola gold and electronic items and escaped.
