SARGODHA, Feb 8: The legs of a married woman were amputated allegedly by her brother-in-law in the name of honour in a nearby village, it was learnt here on Sunday

Musrat Sultana of Chak 75-NB, whose husband Ehsan lives abroad, was roped on a chorpoy by her bother-in-law Farman Ali with the support of his friend before carrying out the amputation.

The accused who was arrested in the evening alleged that Sultana had illicit relations with a villager. The injured woman, admitted to the DHQ hospital, alleged that accused wanted to marry her younger sister. When she rejected the proposal, Farman Ali and her mother took it as their insult.
