MULTAN, Feb 9: District Coordination Officer Muhammad Ijaz Chaudhry has summoned heads of the four state-run educational institutions in Shujaabad city on complaints of frequent absenteeism among their staff.
The DCO office is learnt to have received complaints against Shujaabad government degree colleges for boys and girls, higher secondary school for girls and high school for boys.
Subsequently, the DCO directed EDO (education) Prof Nazeer Chaudhry to pay a surprise visit to these institutions. The EDO raided these institutes on Monday and found their staffs missing.
As many as 10 teachers and three other staff members were absent at the boys college, two teachers and head clerk at the girls college, nine teachers at the boys high school and five teachers at the girls higher secondary school. The DCO has reportedly ordered heads of these institutions to come to his office on Feb 13 (Friday).
PROTECTORATE: Federal Labour, Manpower and Overseas Pakistanis Minister Abdul Sattar Laleka will inaugurate the local branch of protectorate office of emigrants today (Tuesday).
According to an official handout, people aspiring to go abroad for employment will not have to visit Islamabad to get information about visa and other related issues, as all such matters will now be resolved at the local office being established near the MDA chowk.
