FAISALABAD, Feb 15: Villagers killed two dacoits in the area of Garh police, some 45km from here, on Saturday night. Some armed men tried to loot a house when the villagers reached there and exchanged fire with them.

In the crossfire which continued for about one hour, two of the dacoits were killed while the others escaped. Those killed were later identified as Shahid and Riaz.

A gang of masked robbers intercepted constable Qasim Shah in Chak 78-GB and tried to snatch cash and a wristwatch from him. When the constable put up resistance, the bandits shot him dead and fled.

Four dacoits looted cash and valuables from a shop in Jinnah Colony. Shopkeeper Rizwan overpowered one of the bandits and raised an alarm. But the bandits opened fire, killing Rizwan on the spot. Police are investigating.
