SUKKUR, Feb 18: A man and a woman were shot dead on the pretext of Karo-kari in Keehar Chachar village near Daharki on Tuesday. Soomri and Mithal Ghunio were killed by Gul Khoso and his accomplices Allah Dino Khoso and Ghani Khoso.

Kalwar Ghunio, the brother of Mithal, registered a case at the Daharki police station stating that Gul Khoso, the husband of the killed woman, owed Rs30,000 to his brother and on demand he killed him.

Later, the accused killed Soomri and alleged she was Kari with Gul Khoso. Bashir Ahmed, the father of the Soomri, registered an FIR against the same accused.

PROTEST: Journalists from Sukkur, Khairpur, Ranipur, Gambat, and other towns on Wednesday took out a procession against the police for arresting and torturing Gambat-based journalists Mujeeb Lakho, Rafiq Ahmed, Imdad, and Maqsood Sahito and others while they were performing their professional duties.

The Police also snatched cameras from the journalists and damaged the rolls. This was done on the behest of the Muslim League Functional leader Khalid Shaikh.
