HARIPUR, Feb 20: Bodies of two boys who had drowned in September last year were recovered from the Tarbela Lake here on Thursday evening, officials said.

Area people spotted the bodies, stuck in the mud some distance from Khalabat Township, when water receded. They informed the police which recovered the bodies and handed them over to their relatives.

The bodies were identified as Syed Uzair Shah, son of Syed Nisar Shah, while the second boy, a minor, was the son of Colonel Dr Jabbar Bhatti. His name could not be ascertained.

It may be recalled that families of Dr Bhatti, Nisar Shah along with their friends were boating in the Tarbela Lake when one of the boats carrying 19 children and women capsized.

Thirteen of them were rescued, while six children drowned.Four of the six bodies were fished out same evening, while the two children could not be spotted.
