HARIPUR, Feb 26: The Heavy Electrical Complex has designed and manufactured power transformers of 10/13MVA, 132/11.5KV capacity besides qualifying stringent quality tests at Wapda's high-voltage and short-circuit testing laboratory at Rawat, a press release said here on Wednesday.
Terming the successful testing a step forward in local manufacturing of high-voltage transformers, it said the tests were conducted in accordance with the international standard specifications.
A power transformer, weighing 48 tons, was tested on Feb 19- 20 to verify the quality and safety standards, proving the level of accuracy maintained by HEC.
Earlier, Wapda had placed an order for HEC to manufacture and supply of six power transformers valued at Rs54 million against Lot-III of international tender No.KF-541. The remaining five transformers will be completed according to the schedule.
The achievement, the press release said, would pave the way for the indigenous manufacturing of power transformers, meeting the demand of power distribution equipment within the country. -APP
