SUKKUR, Feb 29: Three persons, two of them women, were killed in an armed clash between two rival groups of the Chachar tribe in Jatoi Chachar village, Ghotki district, on Sunday.

The rival groups opened fire on each other during the clash that followed a dispute related to a Karo-kari incident.

As a result, Dhano Chachar, and his wife and daughter-in-law, whose names could not be immediately ascertained, were killed on the spot. Tension mounted in the area following the clash but no FIR was lodged till the filing of this report.

COLLAPSE: Two girls died when the roof of their house collapsed in Mir Hassan Rind village, Jacobabad district, near the Sindh- Balochistan border, on Saturday.

As members of a family were asleep, the wall of a neighbouring house fell on the roof of their house, causing it to cave in. As a result, Shabiran and Mirzadi died on the spot while other members of their family were rescued by neighbours.

SUICIDE: A woman reportedly committed suicide owing to some domestic problems in Pano Akil, Sukkur district, on Saturday. Ajaib, wife of Maroof Chachar, ended her life by taking some poison.

Meanwhile, a teenaged boy, Muhakumuddin, took pesticide in a bid to end his life. However, he was admitted to the Taluka Hospital in a critical condition. It was learnt that he attempted suicide on being angry at his father's refusal to give him pocket money.

INJURED: Two persons were seriously injured when outlaws opened fire on them at the Ghulam Band railway crossing on the Sangrar road, Sukkur district, on Saturday.

Ali Mohammad Brohi and Mohammad Hashim Shambani were on their way to home on a tractor trolley. When they reached the railway crossing, a group of armed bandits tried to stop them but they sped away.

On this, the outlaws opened fire which resulted in critical injuries to them. They were shifted to the Rohri Taluka Hospital. The police was reported to be after the criminals but no arrest was made till the filing this report.
