RAWALPINDI, March 3: The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Rawalpindi has made full arrangements to check the use of unfair means in the matriculation examinations commencing from March 6.

This was stated by the chairman BISE, Dr Aziz Ahmad Hashmi, while briefing newsmen here on Wednesday. About 106,233 candidates will be appearing in class 10th, whereas 96,457 candidates have been enrolled for class 9th examinations.

The BISE chairman also gave details of a meeting held recently in Lahore with Punjab Education Minister Mian Imran Masood. The meeting was attended by the chairmen of all education boards, IG police, home secretary and other officers.

Dr Hashmi said the minister raised concern over the increasing trend of unfair means in examinations and issued directives to the officials concerned to stop the trend.

He said a monitoring cell had been established in Lahore with its branches in all divisions, which would have a supervisory role in the examinations.
