KARACHI, March 22: Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) and tournament director of national championship departmental qualifiers decided on Monday not to take action against an undiciplined KESC player and officials.
KESC player Amir Sai, team manager Mohiuddin and coach Farooq Ahmad were charged with using abusive language against the umpires during pool match against PIA last Friday.
Umpire Zulfiqar Hussain red carded Amir, and then wrote to tournament director, suggesting to impose bans on the player, and the two officials for misconduct.
Zulfiqar, in a letter to tournament director and PHF, supported by second umpire Shehzad Mahmood and reserve umpire Hussain Askari, said: "Amir Sai abused me in front of field jury after I gave a free hit against KESC. I showed him red card and the player again abused me. After re-start officials of KESC abused both the umpires in front of jury.
"The two officials kept shouting at umpires. In 45th minute, I stopped the match and asked the jury to take notice of the misconduct but unfortunately the jury took no action against the officials. I and my colleagues strongly recommend bans on the player and the two officials."
Although KESC player has automatically been suspended for a match after red card, tournament director Hassan Sardar said "no action is needed against the officials as they have not done anything wrong."
