LAHORE, March 24: Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah's daughter, Dina Wadia, says she is happy to have come to Pakistan, adding that the only purpose of the visit is to watch and enjoy cricket.
In a brief encounter with reporters at the Qadhafi Stadium Mrs Wadia said: "I'm enjoying the game of cricket." Mrs Wadia, the only child of the founder of Pakistan, lives in the United States.
She arrived here on Tuesday in a special plane along with her son Nusli Wadia, daughter-in-law and their children on the invitation of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to watch the final one-day match between Pakistan and India.
Mrs Wadia will fly to Karachi on Thursday along with her son and members of his family, where they are expected to visit the mausoleum of the Quaid. They will return to Mumbai, where Mr Nusli Wadia and his family live, some time on Friday.
According to Punjab government officials, the hosts had been asked by the Quaid's daughter not to publicise her stay in the country. "We have been told to refuse all requests for her or her son's interviews," the officials told Dawn. "It is her wish that her visit may be kept a private affair."
