Umer Daraz Khan Sherwani of UC-17 Nazim has condemned the local police for its failure to provide security to citizens and demanded that culprits involved in the crime should be arrested immediately. He has also demanded increase in police patrol during night hours.
The citizens also allege that the City SHO was responsible for increase in the crime rate. They cite many crime incidents, including the murder of a renowned scholar, looting of thousands of rupees from cattle buyers at Mela Mandi, in which the police could not trace the culprits.
They further allege that heroin and other drugs are being sold openly, but the police only arrest the addicts. Social circles have urged the DPO to take stock of the situation.
