SUKKUR, April 12: Police operation against bandits continued on the third consecutive day on Monday in the forest areas of Shah Belo and Alif Kutcho. Police sources said that another bandit, identified as Mohammad Murad Jatoi, was killed in the exchange of firing.

However, police failed to establish the identity of three alleged dacoits who were killed on Sunday. Police claimed that the dacoits managed to take the bodies away with the injured.

The dacoits tried to admit their injured accomplices to the Shikarpur Civil Hospital but fled when police reached there. DPO, Sukkur, Ghulam Shabbir Shaikh, said that firing was continuing between police and dacoits and police was not advancing due to fear that dacoits could kill hostages.

He said that the line of arms supply to dacoits had been cut off and the spots leading to and from the forests had been sealed. He expressed hope that police can achieve results in next 24 hours.
