FAISALABAD, April 14: A gas turbine was damaged slightly when the main gas supply line caught fire near the main SNGPL office on Sargodha Road here on Tuesday night. Reports said that supply lines and pressure motors of the Phase-I transmission lines caught fire incidentally which engulfed the entire machinery of the unit and other articles.

The fire brigade staff rushed to the spot and extinguished the fire after efforts of some two hours. The SNGPL officials claimed that an inquiry had been ordered to find out the causes of the fire and to fix responsibility.

FREED: A local court bailiff on Wednesday raided the Mamukanjan police station and got freed a man kept in an illegal detention. Umer Hayat had filed a plaint with the district and sessions judge claiming that his brother Zafar Iqbal had been in the illegal custody of police for the last five days.

At this, the DSJ directed the bailiff to recover the complainant's brother. The bailiff raided the police station and got released Zafar Iqbal from the unlawful police custody.
