SAHIWAL, April 14: The PML-N activists demonstrated in various parts of the Punjab on Wednesday to protest conviction of ARD president Makhdoom Javed Hashmi. In Sahiwal, a demonstration was held at Liaquat Chowk against the party leader's 23-years imprisonment on sedition charges.

The speakers regretted that the rulers had given a tough time to the court for getting verdict in their favour. PML-N District President Malik Nadeem Kamran claimed that now every worker of the party would follow the guidance of Mr Hashmi for the cause of truth.

The PML-N workers earlier held a meeting, which passed a resolution against the military operation in tribal areas. It also warned that the party would launch fresh agitation if Shahbaz Sharif was arrested on return or deported.
