HYDERABAD, April 21: Relatives of a minor boy have appealed to the Sindh High Court, the Sindh government, senior police officials and human rights organizations to save the boy who has been indicted in a false narcotics case by the Khipro police.

Speaking at a news conference at the local press club on Wednesday, Manoor, Bhopat and Ram Singh, brother, uncle and cousin of the boy, respectively, said that on March 4, SHO Yar Mohammad Rind of the Khipro police station, Sanghar district, raided the house of Khait Singh in Meo Thakar village and arrested, Benji, a student of class VIII.

They said Benji was taken away and indicted in a false narcotics case while his elder brother, Chattar, was also nominated in the same FIR. When they reached the police station, they were told that Benji was a big drugs dealer and was wanted by police.

They alleged that the boy, who was languishing in jail, was arrested at the behest of ASI Ali Nawaz Hingoro, who was earlier transferred from the Khipro police station and was of the view that he was transferred on their complaint, and added that the ASI had given narcotics to the SHO for implicating the boy. Benji's bail application had been rejected by the lower court as it was a narcotics case and they had now moved the Sindh High Court for the boy's bail, they said.

They appealed to human rights organizations to send teams to hold an inquiry into the matter and also appealed to the Sindh government and Sindh High Court to order an impartial inquiry in the interest of justice. They also demanded that the IGP Sindh should punish the Khipro SHO for implicating a minor boy in a heinous crime.
