MARDAN, April 22: People's Party Parliamentarian (PPP) took out a protest procession against continuous load shedding in the district, particularly in the city area, and demanded Wapda authorities to stop load-shedding immediately.

The procession started at the Hoti bridge. The protesters were raising slogans against Wapda authorities and condemning continuous load shedding in the district and in the city. The procession reached the Pakistan Chowk where they held a public meeting and expressed their anger against officials and Wapda Minister Aftab Ahmed Khan Sherpao.

PPP District General Secretary Sharafat Khan while addressing the gathering condemned the unjust load shedding in the area and said it had been carried out without any reason.

He accused Federal Minister for Water and Power Aftab Khan of being responsible for the state of affairs. The protesters also alleged that Wapda was levying unjust taxes on poor consumers. They alleged that leaders of PPP (Sherpao) had been exploiting the situation as they usually received money from consumers for getting their bills corrected.
