HYDERABAD, May 5: Sindh Health Minister Naeem Ishtiaque has said that proud nations can never forget their national heroes. He was speaking on the occasion of the 161st death anniversary of Shaheed Hosh Mohammad Sheedi alias Hosho Sheedi organized recently by the Sindh Al-Habsh Jamaat here the other day.
The minister said that Hosho Sheedi was a great commander and he had sacrificed his life for his country while fighting against the colonial forces. Mr Ishtiaque said that since the beginning of War of Independence in 1857, South Asian Muslims had rendered tremendous sacrifices which could never be forgotten.
He said that the country was ruled by feudal lords and it could not progress unless this system was abolished.
WASA: The Water and Sanitation Agency announced here on Tuesday that consumers who had not been able to deposit their water bills by April 17, should clear their dues by May 18 at the latest to avoid legal action.
A spokesman of the agency said that the recovery magistrate, Afzal Siddiqui and raiding parties were going from door to door in Qasimabad, Latifabad and Hyderabad talukas to check the bills.
He said that defaulters should avail this opportunity and clear their dues in order to avoid penalty and other punishments under the law. He said that consumers could also approach the agency for payment of their arrears in instalments.
RESULTS: The controller of examinations, Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences has announced the result of diploma in nursing administration and management and diploma in nursing education for the academic year 2003, second semester and B.Sc nursing degree programme of first semester 2003 held in the month of March 2004.
