NAWABSHAH, May 5: A Sindh Local Government Commission team inspected development works being carried out by the district government here on Wednesday. The team, comprising Mir Nasir Abbas, director-general, inspection, and Munawar Ali Abbasi, later held a meeting with district officials at the Darbar Hall.

Mr Abbasi told the meeting that the purpose of their visit was to see the performance of the new system, its problems and difficulties and provide guidance to the officials so that smooth running of the system could be ensured.

Officers of education, health, works and services and other departments of the district government briefed the team about the development schemes. Mr Abbas asked the district officer, health, to ensure supply of quality medicines to patients, particularly in rural areas through rural health centres' dispensaries.

District Nazim Faryal Talpur informed the SLGC team that there was a shortage of vaccinators. She said that posts of vaccinators should be increased according to population. The Nazim directed the district health officer to monitor supply of medicines so that deserving patients could get the same.

She told the meeting that several schemes had been executed under the Khushhal Pakistan Programme and the Annual Development Programme.
