SIALKOT, May 16: Chinese agricultural technology experts say they will provide advanced technical assistance to Daska-based farm machinery manufacturers in collaboration with the Pakistan Agricultural Research Council , Pakistan Agricultural Machinery Manufacturing & Implements Association and the Farm Machinery Institute of Pakistan.

This was announced by an eight-member delegation from the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Mechanization Sciences led by Zhu Shuyun, who visited the leading farm machinery manufacturing factories in Daska city.

Talking to newsmen, the Chinese experts hailed the standard and quality of Daska's farm machinery and said Daska-based manufacturers had great potential for modernization. They said there were bright opportunities for joint ventures.

Local manufacturers Muhammad Iqbal Mughal, Mirza Munawar Husain and Mirza Muhammad Yunas gave a detailed briefing to the Chinese experts about "Straw Chopper Machinery" recently introduced by the Daska-based manufacturers in Pakistan, which helps growers save and stock wheat straw. A demonstration of machine's working was staged in the fields near Glotiyan amid tight security.

PARC director Dr Nadeem Amjad, farm machinery institute senior engineer Muhammad Tahir Anwar, PAMIMA vice-chairman Mirza Munawar Husain and Zero Tillage World Organization executive member Muhammad Iqbal Mughal were present on the occasion.
