HARIPUR, May 19: A deputy district officer (education) here on Wednesday lodged a complaint with the district and sessions court, seeking a Hudood Ordinance action against her husband who had accused her boss of molesting her.

The court admitted the complaint of Ms Saeeda Akhtar, the DDO, and summoned her husband, Mohammed Arif, on May 29. Mr Arif, a CT teacher at Government Higher Secondary School in Bareela, had alleged at a press conference that EDO Syed Bashir Shah, teacher Sajid Nadeem and two others, whom he did not identify, had molested his wife in the EDO's office on April 4.

He claimed that when his wife returned home that day she was half conscious. He said that on his insistence she told him that the EDO and his three accomplices had molested her after giving her sedatives.

Mr Arif had also lodged a similar complaint with the district police officer and an MNA, Omar Ayub. In her complaint lodged with the court of additional district and sessions judge, Ms Akhtar said her husband had levelled baseless allegations against her and her seniors, tarnishing her reputation and ruining her life.

Earlier, in a statement recorded under section 164 CrPC, she accused her husband of being a maniac and a psychologically unfit person. She prayed for proceedings against her husband under the Hudood Ordinance, 1979.
