KOHAT, May 19: Senior Superintendent of Police Dr Ishtiaq Marwat on Wednesday sent more than 75 policemen, who had been appointed in disregard of merit or had been working on the same posts for many years, to report to the police headquarters.

The SSP relieved extra staff deployed at his official residence and office and decided to post them in different police stations. A press release said the SSP had warned that he would take action against any official who tried to use his influence for getting transferred.

He said he wanted to appoint honest and professional staff on all important posts to get desired results after the implementation of the Police Order 2002.
