SANGHAR, May 19: The district and sessions judge, Mir Nabi Bux Talpur, has awarded the capital punishment to Ihsan Mari, 28, in a murder case of his fiancee. He also ordered the convict to pay Rs100,000 to the heirs of deceased girl and Rs20,000 as a fine.

Mari had insisted for early marriage but his in-laws wanted some more time. On October 1, 2001, he had killed his fiancee, Bano, 18, with a hatchet.

ARRESTED: The Khipro police have arrested two more murder accused, Ahmed and Siddique Rajar, in Murahdi on Wednesday and recovered two 7mm rifles, one double barrel shotgun and a pistol.

They were among 17 persons nominated in the murder of two brothers, Ismail and Mir Mohammad Rajar, who had been killed a few days ago. Hyder, Abdullah, Maroof and Abdul Haq have already been arrested. It is said that the murders took place when the deceased tried to dig a well on a disputed piece of farmland.
