GUJRANWALA, May 24: A local Anti-Terrorism Court No 1 on Monday continued hearing of the Sialkot jail incident and directed the district jail authority to allow heirs of former SHO Zulfikar Ali and Shahid alias Kala to meet them twice in a week.

The judge adjourned the case till May 27 when heirs of slain judges pleaded before court that they had filed a writ petition in the Lahore High Court for the transfer of this case.

Complainant Gul Abbas Bukhari, father of slain judge Sheharyar Bukhari, had pleaded before the LHC in his writ petition that the Sialkot jail incident case should be transferred to high court.

It was stated that LHC's verdict on his petition was expected on Tuesday (today). All the accused involved in the case were present in the court.

THRASHED: A police raiding team was beaten up by the people on Monday when they entered a janazgah in shoes to arrest an alleged accused in Ghakkhar Town. An SI, an ASI and five constables of the Model Town police raided graveyard's mosque when funeral prayers of a relative of the alleged accused was being offered.

The two constables in civvies caught Murtaza and dragged him out on the road. When people tried to rescue him, other police officials in uniform entered the mosque in shoes and started beating them.

At this the people lost their temper, attacked the policemen and got freed Murtaza. Later, the raiding team informed their senior police officer for action against the people.
