CHARSADDA, May 30: Chief Minister Akram Khan Durrani said here on Saturday that more than 60,000 new posts in education, health, police, Frontier Constabulary and agriculture departments would be created during the next fiscal year.
Speaking at a public meeting after opening a semen production unit at a dairy farm in Harichand here, the chief minister said the new posts would improve services delivery system in the province.
Present on the occasion were MNAs Maulana Gohar Shah and Maulana Mohammad Sabir, MPAs Maulana Idrees, Maulana Musammar Shah, Shamsur Rehman Shamsi, NWFP Agriculture and Livestock Minister Qari Mehmood, Senator Khalid Jan, Livestock Secretary Zebullah Khan and a large number of farmers.
Mr Durrani urged the officials of livestock department to concentrate on the increase in the production of milk and meat and chalk out a comprehensive policy for fighting different diseases of livestock.
He said Punjab was earning a handsome amount from this sector because it had concentrated on research on livestock. The chief minister said the present government was planning to import livestock and milk plant, which would increase income.
He appealed to the farmers' community to cooperate with the livestock department. "In the next ADP, the government has planned establishment of two plants for packing of milk," he said.
About the development activities initiated by the MMA government, Mr Durrani said a record number of schemes had been started in all the districts of the province and priority was given to the backward districts. An amount of Rs30 million had been allocated for the provision of Sui gas to Charsadda district, he further said.
