CHARSADDA, May 31: A resident of Tangi tehsil here on Sunday alleged that police took away valuables from his house during a raid and humiliated women.

Zolan Khan, a resident of Gandheri village in Tangi, told this reporter here that the police raided his house and entered the premises forcefully and humiliated the women.

The raiding party also took away jewellry and other valuables from his house, he claimed. He said he had a land dispute with a man of the same village, and alleged that as the land was in his possession, his opponents had bribed the police to harass his family.

The villagers said that the raiding party which comprised about 30 policemen, accompanied a single woman constable. They alleged that the police entered Zolan's house without prior warning and harassed women and children.

The local police, when approached, said they had taken action against Zolan Khan and three other men, namely Noor Mohammad, Zorzamin and Imdad Ali under Section 434, 430 and 447 of the PPC. However, they denied any member of the raiding party had humiliated the women.
