HYDERABAD, June 3: A memorandum of understanding between the Allama Iqbal Open University and the Mehran University of Engineering and Technology was signed on Monday to set up a AIOU study centre in the architecture department of the later.

The study centre will coordinate in postgraduate programme of environmental design courses which have already been initiated in Karachi and Lahore. Programme coordinator Dr Noumana Anjum and course coordinator Prof Rashid memon, who is also director of the Institute of environmental engineering and management, were also present at the function. Later, a workshop was held in the department of architecture and town planning.

ADMISSIONS: The admissions director, University of Sindh announced on Tuesday that admission schedule for Bed, Med and MA education (previous) for morning and evening programmes academic Year 2004-05.

Admission forms will be available on payment of Rs200 while filled forms will be accepted at the faculty of education, Hyderabad campus from June 10 to July 15. As per admissions requirements, for Bed and MA education (previous), a bachelors degree while for Med, a Bed degree is mandatory.

In all cases, minimum 45 per cent marks were essential. Graduates of the university might be given relaxation in the minimum marks requirement while all candidates may avail the facility of paying admission fee in two equal instalments. Last date for submission of forms with required documents and fee payable at the Hyderabad campus branch of the bank has been fixed as July 15.

Meanwhile, the dean faculty of commerce and business administration, announced that the last date for submission of business internship report for the MBA honours (final) second semester has been fixed as June 5. Moreover, business internship examination will be conducted before the summer vacation for which the date would be fixed shortly, he added.

RESULTS: Controller of examinations, University of Sindh, announced the result of LLB part-I, annual examination 2003 on Monday. Candidates whose results were withheld because of various reasons have been directed to contact the conduct branch of the examinations department and submit required documents for announcement of their results.

Marks certificates will be sent to the principals of relevant colleges in due time while errors and omissions could be rectified anytime on the basis of original record.

LUMHS: The controller of examinations, Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences, has announced the result of MBBS final professional annual examination 2003 of the university as well as the Chandka Medical College.

Sumerta, daughter of Srichand Raja Sachdev, secured first position while Liaquat Mehmood, son of Bashir Awan, and Omar ali Sherman, son of Ali Hassan Sherman, got second and third positions, respectively.
