LARKANA, May 21: Five dacoits were killed in an encounter with the city police in Nasirabad here late on Tuesday night.

The gang leader, identified as Durro Mughiri, who carried a head-money of two million rupees, was among the dead.

The Nasirabad police confirmed to Dawn that five dacoits had been killed and five kalashnikovs had been seized from their possession during the encounter.

Four of the dacoits could not be identified. Their bodies were moved to the Wagan police station.

The encounter followed the day-long fire fight between the police and the dacoits, who had earlier kidnapped two villagers near Ratokot.
